In order to treat a room acoustically, the first thing most people do is add some foam here and there and make the midrange and high frequency  more “dead” and they then think it is more accurate.

Generating deep bass, and generating it loud enough is often an issue for people no matter what your room size or environment. It is the low frequencies which interact with boundaries.    

Low frequencies are often an issue for people. If you are using relatively small cabinets, getting enough sound pressure over a wide frequency range is often difficult without using stacks of speakers.
